Westmanstown duo Margaret Reilly (23) and Brian Reilly (13) qualified for the Finals of the Spar-Irish Independent National Mixed Pairs Challenge at The Royal Dublin Golf Club, when they returned 59 points at Dungarvan Golf Club in July 2002.Westmanstown trio, Lady Captain Pauline O'Reilly, Captain Peter Synnott and President Jim Tymond booked their place in the National Finals of the Mercedes Benz-Irish Independent Executive Golf Trophy. In the Leinster regional qualifier at Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links, in a swirling breeze that came at them from all sides. With two scores to count on each hole they dovetailed well with 38 points on each nine. Pauline playing off 27, Peter playing off 14 and Jim playing off 17 returned a score of 76 which brought them to represent their club at The K Club on the 13th of August 2001.
Westmanstown Golf Club won the Moor Cup in 1997, when the team was Bosco Muldoon, Richard McDonald, John Joyce, Michael Bridgeman, Anthony Hughes, Dan O'Callaghan, John Merrigan, Des Rodgers, Cyril Doyle and Tom Reynolds.
Westmanstown has a fine record in the Kestrel Cup having first won it in 1884, when the team was Jimmy Hennessy, Tom O'Malley, Gerry Scully, Sean O'Mahoney, Michael Connolly, Don Donohue, Donie O'Sullivan, Gerry Muldoon, Michael Concannon, Dan Kennedy, Michael Rooney and they were captained by Des Rogers.
They won it again in 1996, when the team was Pat Davey, Tom O'Malley, Michael Francis, Denis Naughton, Christy Lonergan, Noel Manton, Aidan Breslin and they were captained by Tony Boyce.
They won it the following year with Michael Sullivan, Denis O'Sullivan, Denis Naughton, Jack Dunne, Billy McQuaid, Noel Manton, They were captained again by Tony Boyce.
They next won it in 1999, when the team was Joe Power, Sean Mahony, Tom Scanlon, Michael Connolly, Brendan Collis, John Stapleton, Dan Murphy and they were captained by Ned Ryan.
They last won it in the millennium, when the team was Brendan Fennelly, Jimmy Hennessy, Jack Dunne, Billy Ashton, Michael Francis, Tom Purcell, Michael Purcell, Michael Rooney and Kevin O'Brien.
The Ladies of Westmanstown Golf Club won the Countess of Granard in 2000 with, Finola McGarrity and Hilda Gauley.
Retired Garda, Harry Lambe who is still a GAA referee in Co. Meath, is making the Clontarf Seniors Open his own. He won it for the 3rd time in its four years of existence, with a score of 41pts off 12. Harry had 23 points on the front nine all as he had to do was come home steady to retain his title, which he did.
